A World Away
As some of you already know, I have been incredibly blessed with a once in a lifetime opportunity to visit Ethiopia & Uganda in January, 2016. I know - it's awesome. Part of the standard trip criteria is to have an interview with one of the trip coordinators. A simple question is asked. Why do you want to go?
As a photographer and son of 20+ year veteran in the mission field I feel like I've been preparing for this trip my entire life. As I thought about how I might best contribute, pretty simple answers came to mind. Of course, the low hanging fruit is photo & video. No problem - check. What else can I do? How can I bless others with as close to an experience as I had? How can I put my talents & passion to work for the good of the children in Africa?
So often we hear that it only takes one person to make a difference in the world and for the first time, I feel like its true. I can do something. I will do something.
A lot. Itineraries are finalized and flights are booked but there is still more planning to do. Vaccinations are in order, packing the gear, and casting the vision for what I want to bring back to share with you all. The vision is a work in progress but believe me when I tell you, you are going to want to see, hear, and immerse yourself in it - and I'm going to need your help to do it.
